"Natural" can apply to millions of things. Technically anything that at some point in its life contained the element CARBON is of "natural" origin. That is the requirement when referring to something as "natural". In the cosmetic industry it is only required that 25% of a product contain natural ingredients and it can be labeled as "natural". Scary, but true. Animals are ALSO natural and their fats are often used in emulsifying processes, so be careful when you see that word. Make sure you’re really getting what you’re looking for.
Here at Val's Body Essentials 99% of our ingredients are natural AND derived from plants. But we take it one step further. The creams are all PARABEN FREE. You can find a complete listing of VBE's ingredients in that category section as well as all active ingredients also appearing on the product page. The ingredients are defined and explained using both the approved FDA and CFTA required chemical listing as well as common termonology for those of us without a chemistry degree. There is information on ingredients which are considered toxic or deemed unsafe. Currently parabens have been of great concern and linked to cancers although this has NOT been established as of yet by the FDA, explaining why it is still on the market. That and the fact that over 99% of all current cosmetics contain some form of paraben which could be a catastrophe to the industry if it was deemed as "cancerous".
We have specifically chosen to be in the 1% of Paraben Free providers and believe that alone distinguishes us from the majority of current cosmetic manufacturers.
We also use 100% pure essential oils, and combine these just perfectly to create a “synergistic” effect. BORN ON DATING – Val’s Body Essentials guarantees that every face cream you receive will be "born" or created within 30 days of your order. Essential oil properties lessen with time and after being added to most carrier ingredients. For this reason, creams with preservatives and an extended shelf life only add to the “freshness” of the overall product, not to the life of the essential oils. Their effectiveness decreases daily so the chances of buying cosmetics with no “active” benefits increases dramatically. Expiration dates are not nearly as useful as knowing WHEN the product was actually made. The concept may have originated with beer, but we believe it is even more relevant to the cosmetic industry and aren't aware of anyone else offering "born-on-dating". A concept that SHOULD be an industry standard.
